Wilma Jean Mayfield, age 90, of Shelton, died Monday, July 6, 2020, at her home. Private family graveside service will be held at the Shelton Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled for a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family. On Tuesday, June 16, 2020, Wendell R. Pedersen passed away peacefully from pneumonia due to Acute Myloid Leukemia (AML), just 12 days after his 63rd birthday. His wife, Meg was right beside him holding his hand and they were surrounded by the nurses and staff on duty who had cared for Wendell over the eight months he’d received treatment from the BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) Unit, 5 South, Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia, whom he affectionately called “The Fighting 5th.”

Carrol Jay Wilcoxson, age 82, of Phoenix, Arizona, passed away Monday, June 29, 2020, at Artemis Adult Care Home in Phoenix, Arizona. There will be a celebration of life at a later date for Carrol and Henrietta Wilcoxson.

Verna M. Andersen, age 92, formerly of Shelton, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at The Auberge at Missoula Valley in Montana. Funeral service will be today (Thursday) at 11:00 a.m. at Apfel Funeral Home in Wood River with Pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Burial will follow in the Shelton Cemetery. Visitation will be an hour prior to the start of the service. Memorials are suggested to the Shelton Historical Society and the Shelton American Legion Auxiliary.
