Par Williamson was crowned 2020 Wood River Rural High Homecoming Queen and Dylan Alvarado King, on Friday, September 18, after a week of homecoming activities at Wood River Rural. Members of the royal court included Boston Boucher, Baylie Codner, Sage Gideon, Keely Wiese, Carson Thompson, Cade Huxtable, Austin Buettner, and Devin Jepson.

After a special budget meeting held on August 31, the Gibbon Board of Education tabled a decision on the 2020-21 budget and tax asking. The sticking point among board members at that meeting was whether or not to leave the general fund levy at $1.01 or lower it to $1.00 per $100 of valuation.

Members of Shelton American Legion Auxiliary Post #297 honored Helen Smith (seated) for her 75 years of continuous membership in the Auxiliary at a get together on Friday, September 18, at the Shelton Legion Hall.
