The second annual STEM (Science, technology, engineering and math) Camp was held this summer at Wood River’s Stick Creek Kids Development Center on July 6, 7, and 8. Nearly 50 children attended the camp and studied Bernoulli's Principle and learned about all things wind and air. STEM Camp was staffed by camp director, Kim Canfield, along with her junior high volunteer, Anna Canfield. Several Stick Creek Kids teachers were also involved with and helped with the camp from assisting students to serving up healthy snacks. A highlight of STEM Camp was flying kites on the final day of camp. “Fun was had by all and we look forward to Summer STEM Camp in 2023,” said Mrs. Canfield. STEM Camp has been made possible by the support of our Stick Creek Kids families and board, The Wood River Centennial Community Foundation, and the #NebraskaSTEM program.
