Buffs fall victim to Broncos, Cards

The Amherst Broncos and Doniphan/Trumbull Cardinals proved too much for the Gibbon boys basketball team last week in basketball action. The Gibbon boys traveled to Amherst on Thursday, January 22, where they were sent home with a 24-65 loss. The following night on the hardwood in Gibbon, Doniphan/Trumbull got past the Buffaloes with a resounding 71-28 final tally.

Brad Myers’ toughness helped to put Shelton on the gridiron map

Bursting onto the football scene during his junior year on the Shelton Bulldogs’ team, Brad Myers put the area football world on notice. Size, speed, and toughness were his combination that led to rushing for over 1,000 yards in his junior and senior seasons, leading the 1985 Bulldog gridders to post season play and community excitement and support.

Shelton team finds right combination, ends sixty-five year tournament absence

A combination of athletes of many shapes and sizes put together one of the most exciting seasons in Shelton basketball history. A team that ranged from a 5’ 6” point guard to a 6’ 6” center, and five other players on the roster topping six feet tall. The senior heavy team worked their way to a semifinal finish at the 1993 Class C-2 Nebraska state basketball tournament, and a spot on the Class of 2025 Shelton Athletic Hall of Fame.
