Honor Awards Night held at WRRHS

Wood River Rural Schools 2021 Honor Awards Night was held Tuesday, May 11, at the school. School counselor Lisa Boucher, along with the respective class sponsors, recognized the Top Ten Honorees of the freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes. Mrs. Boucher also presented the Most Improved Certificates and Wood River Academic Letter Awards. Principal Dr. Stuart Lenz presented the Senior Four Year Top 10% Awards, the LouPlatte Conference Academic Awards, and Presidential Education Awards. National Honor Society members were also recognized at the honor awards night.

Centura Public School students win “811” safe digging poster contest

Students from Centura Public School were recently recognized as winners of the “811” Call Before You Dig Statewide Poster Contest. Jenifer Trumler, a fourth grade teacher, coordinated the safe digging lesson and submitted posters from her students. A poster created by fourth grader Mercy McDonald was chosen from among 223 entries from 15 schools to be featured in a statewide public awareness campaign. An award presentation was held on Monday, May 10, at the school.
