Graduation ceremonies for the Gibbon High Class of 2020 will be held on Saturday, July 25, at 1:00 p.m. The class motto is “Life brings tears, smiles, and memories. The tears dry, the smiles fade, but the memories last forever,” by George Bernard Shaw. The class flower is a white rose and the class song is “Good Old Days” by Macklemore.
The 2020 summer baseball/softball seasons across Clipper Country has been halted before it could begin due to coronavirus concerns and the state’ Directed Health Measures (DHM) regarding it.
Sara Palmer has been selected as the Valedictorian for the Shelton High Class of 2020 and Marcus Lauber has been selected as Salutatorian.
Dannebrog American Legion Auxiliary Post #241 has selected four students from Centura High School as delegates to Cornhusker Girls State and Boelus American Legion Post #201 selected two students as delegates to Cornhusker Boys State. Due to coronavirus concerns, both Boys and Girls State events have been canceled.
The Shelton School Board conducted their second monthly meeting via video conference for their regular meeting on Monday, May 11, due to the coronavirus that has spread across the nation. The district finished the school year holding online classes for most students, and sending out packets for the younger students.
