Last week the Shelton Bulldogs traveled to Lincoln for the Nebraska State Boys Basketball Championship on Thursday, March 9, Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11.
Gibbon Public School celebrates Read Across America Week
The Shelton boys basketball team saw their offense explode in the D2-7 district final game on Monday, February 27, in Shelton against Medicine Valley to help punch their ticket back to the Nebraska state boys basketball tournament.
The march to a Class D1 state championship for the Centura girls basketball team went through games with Elgin Public/Pope John on Wednesday, March 1, Hartington Cedar Catholic on Friday, March 3, and ultimately, with Hastings St. Cecilia on Saturday, March 4, where the Centura ladies won a spirited battle with the Lady Bluehawks to claim Centura’s first ever girls basketball state championship.
The Shelton Lady Bulldogs hit the hardwood at the Nebraska state girls basketball tournament this past weekend in Lincoln. Shelton played in their first-round match against Wilcox-Hildreth on Thursday, March 2. The Lady Bulldogs were victorious in that game and faced Wynot in the semifinals on Friday, March 3. Shelton’s comeback efforts fell short in the Wynot game and they faced Humphrey St. Francis on Saturday, March 4, in the third and fourth place game.
