Top fifteen finishes by Kaleigh Prach for the girls and Darian Dorsey for the boys, led the Gibbon cross country teams at the Ravenna Invitational on Thursday, September 14. As a team, the Gibbon boys placed fifth overall. The Gibbon ladies did not have a team score as there were only two lady Buffaloes competing.
The Wood River Eagle volleyball team started their quiet week by competing at home against the Grand Island Central Catholic Crusaders on Tuesday, September 12, and then went on to travel to Central City on Saturday, September 16, winning against Boone Central/Newman Grove in their first tournament game, falling to Adams Central in their second, and coming out against Central City in their third game and claiming another win.
Centura football fans were treated to a homecoming win over the visiting Wood River Eagles on Friday, September 15. The Centurions posted a 20-8 score for the win, even though the Eagles took an early lead.
Two of Clipper Country’s volleyball teams went up against each other this past week on Thursday, September 7, while competing in a triangular in Ord, ending the close competition for the night with the Wood River Eagles barely overcoming the Centura Lady Centurions.
