The Wood River girls wrestling team attended the Fillmore Central Holiday Invitational on Saturday, December 30, and returned home with a truck load of medals for their efforts and a second place finish as a team. Wood River piled up 149.50 points behind first place Seward County with 169.50 points in the 18 team invitational.
Gibbon High’s mock trial team, coached by Angie Clevenger, qualified for the state meet in Lincoln and competed there on Monday and Tuesday, December 11 and 12, and finished with one win and two losses, according to Mrs. Clevenger.
The final week of play before the Christmas break was an exciting one for the Gibbon girls basketball team as they recorded the first win of the season on the road at Harvard on Tuesday, December 19, which was followed by a thrilling home court victory over Hi-Line (Elwood-Eustis-Farnam) on Thursday, December 21.
The Shelton Lady Bulldogs basketball team was in action twice last week before the holiday break, as they traveled to Lawrence-Nelson on Tuesday, December 19, and hosted Wilcox-Hildreth in Shelton on Thursday, December 21.
