Mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend, Mary Francis (Barr) Babel passed away peacefully Thursday night, May 27, 2021. She spent her last days surrounded by family and friends, enjoying stories and sharing her love until the end. Mary was ready to transition into the next life and communicated such to her family, making it easier to let her go.
Arthur Barg, age 107, of Grand Island, formerly of Wood River, passed away on January 30, 2021, at Good Samaritan Village in Grand Island.
Douglas A. Halsted died peacefully at his home in Surprise, Arizona, on February 15, 2021. He was 83 years old.
Gladys Rae Nickel, age 80, of Minden, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at her home. Graveside services were held Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Kearney Cemetery with the Reverend Donald Hunzeker and PMA Julie Schmidt officiating. Memorials in Gladys’ honor are kindly suggested to the Minden Volunteer Fire Department. Craig Funeral Home in Minden is in charge of the arrangements.
