Buffs pull away from Bulldogs in third quarter for victory
Discounting the third period in Gibbon’s 14-point win at Shelton Tuesday, January 5, the visitors would still have won the game, but by just a threepoint margin. Since the two teams each scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, the 15-4 Gibbon blitz in that fateful third stanza created the lopsided final of 49-35.
Shelton trailed 6-9 after one period of play, and the teams played to a 12-point tie in second-quarter points, leaving the intermission clock showing a Gibbon edge of those same three points, 21-18.
