Buffaloes cage Cardinals for win number two

By taking advantage of miscues by the visiting Doniphan/ Trumbull Cardinals and not letting up, the Gibbon Buffaloes recorded their second big victory of the season, 30-16 over the Cardinals.

The Buffaloes got on the board first courtesy of the punishing running of Sean Hampton. An Abel Avila PAT kick put the local boys up 7-0 with just under eight minutes remaining in the first quarter.

The Buffaloes scored next after several penalties stifled a Cardinal drive deep in their own territory, and a short punt gave the Buffaloes the ball in good field position. Soon after, a strike from Gibbon quarterback Andrew Weismann to Carlos Tamayo increased the home team’s lead to 13-0. Avila added the PAT, and the Buffaloes held a 14-0 lead five minutes before halftime.
