Wood River/Shelton Junior High football team goes 6-0

junior high football cooperative of Wood River and Shelton, the team of 34 boys went undefeated on the season. The team came together to form a solid unit in all three phases of the game, offense, defense and special teams. Improving all season, the team compiled a perfect 6-0 record.

The first game of the season was against Grand Island Central Catholic, which is always a tough game. The WR/Shelton team bolted to a 20-0 lead before giving up two late touchdowns in the win.

Waylon Cronk and Riley Bombeck supplied the team with some nifty pass-catch connections in the victory, a rarity in recent years over the Crusaders.
