Wood River wrestlers fifth at own meet

The Wood River Eagles wrestling team battled some tough competition at their own duals tournament last Saturday, January 4, coming out with a fifth place team finish. “This tournament is traditionally very tough, and this year it exceeded expectation,” state coach Darin Waddington.

The Eagles finished with three wins and two losses in the team duals. The losses came to fourth rated David City Aquinas and fifth rated Raymond Central. A highlight for the day was Carson Thompson recording his one hundredth win of his career during the meet.
