Wood River grapplers second at Central Valley

Having two champions and four other wrestlers in the top four of their weight classes accounted for enough team points for the Wood River Eagles wrestling team to claim the runner-up plaque at the Central Valley Invite last Friday, January 31. Neligh/Oakdale won the meet with 165 points, followed by the Eagles with 135, and Palmer close begins with 127 team points for third.

The Eagles dropped a dual at Ord on Tuesday, January 28, to start the week of wrestling. “It was a long week with injuries and illness, but we still competed okay and really had a chance to with the dual,” said coach Darin Waddington.
