Lady Eagles runners-up at district track, advance five in nine events to state

Of the ten events in which Wood River’s Lady Eagles placed at the Class C-7 district track meet Thursday, May 9, at Sandy Creek, six of them were winning performances. Five Eagle ladies have qualified for the state meet.

Two Lady Eagles each won two individual events, and Wood River claimed championships in two of the meet’s three relays. Cyd Huxtable reigns at the top of the 300 hurdles with her winning time of :47.26 and at the top of the 100 with a district championship time of 12.85 seconds. Jocelyn Rauert rules the 200 with her 26.88 seconds and ended at the top of the 400 runners with a time of 1:01.04.
