Bulldog boys district champs, send nine to state

At the Class D-5 district track meet at Broken Bow Friday, May 10, Shelton’s Bulldogs captured the championship of the 11- team meet by a mere two points over Ansley-Litchfield, 114-112. In that process two relays and seven individual events earned a ticket to this week’s state meet in Omaha.

Ry Cheney led the way by winning his three individual events and running a leg on a winning relay. The junior won the 800 in a time of 2:02.85, took the 1600 with his 4:52.73, and captured the 3200 crown with a 10:47.99. He joined Castor Ruyle, Angel Lehn, and Jesse Sauceda on the victorious 4 X 800 relay. That foursome turned in a time of 8:48.27.
