Randall M. Hartmann, age 67, of Grand Island, died Friday, May 11, 2018, of natural causes. Funeral service were held Friday, May 18, 2018, at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, with the Reverend Michael Reiners officiating. Inurnment was in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Island. Memorials are suggested to Hall County 4-H. Apfel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be directed to www.apfelfuneralhome. com. Randall Marvin Hartmann was born April 2, 1951, in Grand Island Hospital, the son of Marvin and Elaine (Jorgensen) Hartmann. He grew up and received his education in Wood River, graduating from Wood River High School with the class of 1969. He later attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in ag business. He lived in Lincoln and Grand Island and was employed by Farmers National Insurance. Randall was an avid supporter of 4-H. He was a member of Nebraska Water Leaders Academy and a LEAD Fellow of University of Nebraska. Those left to cherish his memory include sons, Jacob (Anne) Hartmann, of Shawnee, Kansas, and Ben (Sarah) Hartmann, of O’Neill; daughter, Lindsey (Mark) Rentschler, of Boulder, Colorado; eight grandchildren; mother, Elaine Hartmann, of Grand Island; brothers, Kent (Janet) Hartmann, and Kirk (Cindy) Hartmann, all of Wood River; and sister, Ronda (Roger) Wiegert, of Grand Island. He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Hartmann; grandparents, Edward and Myrtle Hartmann and Thorwald and Mary Jorgensen; and granddaughter, Maisy Hartmann.
