Donald Arthur Farley, age 82, passed away suddenly at Bryan Hospital in Lincoln on January 3, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. His celebration of life will be held at the Havelock United Methodist Church in Lincoln on Saturday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. Memorials can be sent to 2100 Spring Meadow Circle, Lincoln, NE 68521. Leave online condolences at NebraskaCremation.com. Don was born on September 3, 1936, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Alliance to Arthur and Wilma (Herbert) Farley. Don’s early years were spent in the Alliance area. After that he moved to Denver, Colorado, where he finished his high school education at Aurora High in 1954. Continuing his education, Don went on the Chadron State College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education and met the love of his life, Carol Joy Busacker. Don and Carol were married July 19, 1958, and moved on to Stuart where they began teaching. They were happily married for 59 years. Don retired from Republican Valley High School after many years at a career that he loved. Being a teacher, coach, and administrator made his life full. He ultimately found his true calling as CEO and founder of Grandpa’s Garage Brewery. Don enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, fishing, hunting, and his beloved dog, Babe. Don is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Mike) Denny and Susan (Don) Partridge; son, Ross (Jennifer) Farley; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Joan Corman; sisterin- law, Kathy Farley; and many deeply loved nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Carol; daughter, Jennifer; his parents; brothers, Ken and Jack; sister, Phyllis; and beloved Labrador, Babe.
