Tractor Pull enters 50th year

Gibbon’s annual summer event is this Friday

This year marks fifty years of tractor pulling excitement in Gibbon as the Gibbon Tractor Pull Association presents the annual tractor pull this Friday, August 9, with gates opening at 5:00 p.m. and the first pull at 7:00 p.m.

In the years prior to 1969, the Gibbon Jaycees sponsored tractor pulls as part of the community’s Independence Day celebration activities. In the early days of tractor pulling in Gibbon, contestants pulled sleds with people on them as weight, adding more people until reaching the maximum pulling capacity.
