Sandbagging Round Two!

Clipper Country braces for second round of flood waters

Residents of Gibbon began voluntary evacuations Tuesday night and Wednesday as flood waters from the Wood River rose over its banks once again this year. The Murnen Avenue bridge in Gibbon (above) was still visible Tuesday night. Volunteers from Gibbon, Shelton and Wood River (at left) bagged sand to protect property in preparation of the flood waters. The Wood River was expected to crest early Thursday morning in Gibbon, making its way east. The Gibbon, Shelton and Wood River Fire and Rescue departments and local law enforcement have been staying on top of the constantly changing event.
