Motor Inn opens under new Schroeder management team

Couple returns to rejuvenate restaurant in Shelton

Shelton native Dustin Schroeder and wife, Danielle, recently assumed the helm of iconic Shelton bar/ restaurant the Motor Inn. Dustin, a 2004 graduate of Shelton High School, joined the Army reserves in 2003, becoming head cook, before earning an associates degree in media arts. He was deployed to Kuwait where he managed a dining facility. During his military cooking career, Schroeder received three letters from one three-star general and two two-star generals who personally congratulated him on his competition in the Philip A. Connelly culinary contest. He said that the contest includes 150 teams in the regular Army and Army reserves in the United States. Schroeder and three other competitors won that competition in 2011.
