William “Bill” Darrell Trompke

William “Bill” Darrell Trompke, aka, “Willy T,” age 71 years old, of Gibbon, passed away at Kearney Good Samaritan Hospital on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, with his sons by his side. A memorial service was held Friday, July 15, 2022, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will take place at Kearney Cemetery at a later time.

Bill was born in Loup City to Richard and Gladys (Franzen) Trompke on April 29, 1951. Bill’s education was in Holdrege and Elm Creek. Bill was united in marriage with Christine (Eggli) in 1973. Together, they had three sons. His boys were his greatest accomplishments. All who knew Bill, knew that he loved hard and was a friend for life. He was also known for being one of the best selftaught auto body man who won numerous awards for his auto paintwork. Bill enjoyed the racetrack, cars, fishing, sci-fi and army movies, and spending time laughing with his boys and grandsons.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Chad Trompke, of Lincoln, and Adam and Crystal Trompke, of Ord; four grandsons, Jaden, Gavin, Emerson, and Everett Trompke; brothers, Gary (Shelly) Trompke, of Axtell, and Tim (Lori) Trompke, of Kearney; a sister, Sharon (Ben) Muirhead, of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and will reunite with his first born son, Jeremy.
