Wade graduated from Northwest High School in 2008 and then continued his education at Central Community College.

Wade began his career at Plains Irrigation in May of 2008 where he mentored many and made a positive impact on whoever he came across. Wade cherished his job and everyone that he met along the way in his 15 years at Plains. He loved his Plains Irrigation family just as much as his own.

Wade was introduced to his dream girl, Ashlee Brandt, through his best friend, Jake Neighbors in 2016. She tried to play hard to get but Wade’s goofy personality and contagious smile won her over. Wade and Ashlee made their home in Grand Island. On Christmas Eve of 2019, Wade surprised Ashlee with their beloved dog, Chief. Chief instantly became Wade’s best friend and replaced Ashlee as cuddle partner. Wade and Ashlee got married on March 18, 2023, with the biggest party he always dreamed of. They sang their hearts out, danced, and celebrated with all of their closest family and friends. The day was a dream that cannot be replaced.

Wade is survived by his wife, Ashlee Meyer, and best friend, Chief; his mother, Kim (Pfeifer) Meyer, siblings include Annaliese (Jared) Leiser, Allison (Alex) Bendt, Grant (Ashley Scherer) Meyer, and his nieces Scarlett, Ruby, and Scout Leiser, Sloane and baby Bendt, and Palmer Meyer, all of Grand Island; grandparents, Gaylord and Joan Meyer, of Kearney; and his mother and father inlaw, Chuck and Lisa (English) Brandt, of Cairo. Wade had an abundance of extended family and friends that he cherished greatly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Galen “Gus” Meyer and grandparents, Clarence and Virginia Pfeifer.

Wade was given many nicknames including Uncle Wade-O, Wiggity Wade, Hip Wader, and Wizzy Wade. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and mostly spending time with Ashlee and Chief. Wade enjoyed taking drives in any vehicle from his “car lot,” specifically his ‘76 Chevy van. He loved spending time in his garage and listening to music at max volume while smoking meat on the patio. Wade was undeniably the life of the party and could light up any room he walked in. He enjoyed every moment he got to spend with his friends and family to the fullest.

Wade will be forever known for his huge heart, contagious laugh, and positive personality. He gave the best hugs and always wanted everyone to be happy. As we all know, Wade is enjoying being able to fish with his dad again.
