Tony Hedrick

Tony Eric Hedrick, age 53, of Gibbon, passed on at his home Tuesday, March 8, 2022. A celebration of life will was held Friday, March 18, 2022, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney.

Tony was born November 1, 1968, in Hutchinson, Kansas, to Dennis and Judy (McKee) Hedrick. His father was a dispatcher for the railroad, so Tony moved around when he was younger. He spent his formative years in Yukon, Oklahoma. He moved to Alliance during his pre-teen years, where he made lifelong friends. Tony graduated from McCook High School; he went on to study music at McCook Community College. Tony played in multiple bands during his lifetime, playing guitar and bass. His most cherished memories are of playing with his brothers in their band Joe Bones.

Tony married Kendi Schwarz, January 1993, to this union a son was born. They later divorced. Besides music and playing in bands, Tony worked in the printer repair business for several years. Tony started dating AnnEtta Brown in April 2006 and were married April 1, 2016, and with this union he gained two daughters and a son. Tony was very enthusiastic about his music, and most proud of his children and grandchildren.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, AnnEtta Hedrick, of Gibbon; his father-in-law, David Smith, of Gibbon; his children, Dylan Hedrick, of Elwood, Chelsie (Brown) Salinas, of Shelton, Dayvie Brown, of Kenesaw, and Briant Brown, of Franklin; his grandchildren, Titus and Malachi Hedrick, of Lexington, Jaron, Zaevan, and IzaBella Zysset, of Columbus, Cale and Parker Harvey, of Kenesaw, and Greyson Brown, of Franklin.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Dennis and Judy Hedrick; mother-in-law, Betty Smith; grandparents, Bob and Geth Hedrick and Howard and Ada DeMoulin; sister, Tami Sue Hedrick; and brothers, Tracy Lee and Tim Allen Hedrick.
