Terry L. Orr

Terry L. Orr, age 76, of Grand Island, Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at CHI Health Bergan Mercy in Omaha, with his daughters at his side. Mr. Orr’s life will be celebrated Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Curran Funeral Chapel at 3005 S. Locust Street in Grand Island with family greeting the public from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Reverend Sheri Lodel will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Grand Island City Cemetery. Military honors rendered by the U.S. Marine Corp. Honor Guard. Curran Funeral Chapel is assisting the family. Terry was born April 24, 1948, at Lewellen, the son of Clifford and Donna (Beattie) Orr. Terry graduated from Gibbon High School in 1967. He entered the U.S. Marine Corp on January 17, 1968. Terry married Virginia Lundquist on May 10, 1969, in Gibbon. Terry was stationed in Twentynine Palms, California; Camp Pendleton, California; and Ft. Huachuca, Arizona. He served three tours in Okinawa, Japan, and served in Vietnam as well, before retiring on January 31, 1994. After his retirement Terry returned to Nebraska where he was an over the road semi driver for over 20 years.

Terry enjoyed western Nebraska ranch life, woodworking, westerns, and NASCAR.

He is survived by his daughters, Alena Freeman, of Grand Island, and Kimberly Orr, of Grand Island; sister, Linda (Francis) Spotanski, of Shelton; daughter-in-law, Trina Orr, and his grandson, Logan Orr, of Phoenix, Arizona; and ex-wife, Virginia Orr, of St. Paul.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew Orr; infant grandson, Garrett Orr; brothers, Kenny, Randy, ans Charles LeRoy “Roy;” and sister, Marsha Coughtry.
