Sharon Kay Webben

Sharon Kay Webben, age 87, of Shelton, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at the Good Samaritan Society in Grand Island. A Memorial Service will was held Monday, October 14, at the Shelton United Methodist Church with Reverend Michelle Byerly officiating.

Inurnment followed at the Shelton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date. Apfel Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Sharon was born on April 23, 1937, at her grandparents’ farm south of Boelus to Donald and Maureen (Harris) Christensen.

She grew up in Grand Island and received her education at Grand Island.

She was united in marriage to Donald Webben on July 31, 1955, at Trinity Methodist in Grand Island. After which the couple lived south of Shelton on the family farm. Sharon worked for Shelton Public Schools for many years as well as the alfalfa mill in Odessa.

She was a member of the Shelton United Methodist Church and was involved in 4-H when her children participated.

Sharon is survived by her son, Jaime (Pam) Webben, of Shelton; daughter, Jody Horner, of Loup City; daughter-in-law, Terri Webben, of Grand Island; brothers, Randy (Diane) Christensen, of Colorado, and Jim Jackson, of Wood River; grandchildren, Kevin (Abby) Webben, Molly Webben, Cody Webben, Don (Mattie) Webben, Daniele (Nick) Lausterer, Devon Webben, Ryan Horner, Riley (Dina) Horner, Rebecca (David) Castellanos, and Rustan White; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father and step-mom, Dorothy Christensen; mother and step-father, Gale Jackson; son, Jeffrey Webben; and nephew, Cory Christensen.
