Scott was born on December 19, 1961, at Lutheran Memorial of Grand Island to his parents, Thomas and Carolyn (Heskett) Ellis. He was a member of the Shelton community and was known for his rambunctious spirit even from his earliest days. He filled the town with laughter and energy, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He was a dedicated patriot, served his country with pride and passion working tirelessly as a tank operator/crewman. His unwavering commitment to duty and love for his country inspired all who knew him.
Following his service in the military, Scott pursued a career as a truck driver traveling the country with the same determination and dedication he showed in uniform. His time behind the wheel is marked by professionalism, reliability, and a love for the open road.
In his leisure time Scott found solace in the great outdoors, especially during goose hunting trips with his grandson, Van, and son-in-law, Mike. As many are aware, Scott enjoyed the “occasional” adult beverage, relishing each moment of camaraderie and relaxation with his cherished companions.
Scott’s absence will be deeply felt, especially during those cherished phone calls where he affectionately signed off with, “I love you with all my heart,” his enduring habit of calling everyone “honey,” and his knack for playful teasing and wisecracks. Scott brought laughter and love to every conversation.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of eight years, Jane (Helmuth); from Scott’s first union to Linda (Kent) Welch three children were born, Jami Ellis Adelman, Jessica (Mike) Whitmire, and Jordan Ellis; grandchildren, Van Whitmire and Kendall Whitmire; sister, Kristy Ellis (Jeff) Quinn; brothers, Wade (Annette) Ellis, and Corey (Christy) Ellis; nieces and nephews, Michael (Miranda) Ellis, Michaela (Skyler) Tylkowski, McKenna (Adam) Jensen, McKenzie Ellis, Matthew Ellis, and Darrek (Kaitlin) Ellis; as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Steven Lee; sister, Jo Lynn; parents, Thomas and Carolyn Ellis; and grandparents, R. O. and Velma Heskett; Rose and George Ellis.
