Sandra “Sandy” Solomon

Sandra “Sandy” Solomon, age 76, of Shelton, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023, at Mt. Carmel Home in Kearney. Memorial services were held Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. Inurnment was at the Shelton Cemetery.

Sandy was born October 15, 1946, in Fremont, to Gerald and Ila (Bronson) Sievers.

She was raised in Fremont and attended Fremont High School, graduating with the class of 1964. On June 7, 1969, Sandy was united in marriage to Melvin Solomon in Fremont.

The couple lived in Casper, Wyoming, for 10 years before moving back to the Shelton area in 1982. The couple raised their family there where Sandy had an in-home daycare for several years. She later worked at Morris Press in Kearney for over 20 years.

Sandy was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney. She enjoyed mowing and tending to her flowers. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Melvin Solomon, of Shelton; son, Justin (Tracie) Solomon, of Gretna; daughter, Cody (Keith) Meints, of Amherst; grandchildren, William and Gavin Solomon and Kaitlyn, Ryker and Avari Meints; brothers, Dennis (Sandy) Sievers, of Columbia, Missouri, and Gene (Gloria) Sievers, of El Toro, California; sister, Janice (Larry) Swanson, of Cedar City, Utah; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother, Danny Sievers.
