Robert “Bob” Gardner

Robert “Bob” Gardner, age 62, of Kearney, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2022, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, February 16, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

Robert LeRoy Gardner was born April 19, 1959, in Clarinda, Iowa, to Everett and Wilba “Billie” (Endecott) Gardner. He received his education from Gibbon High School, graduating with the class of 1977. He then attended Kearney State College where he earned a degree in computer sciences. Bob was a certified airplane mechanic and repaired truck scales while in college. For the past 26 years he worked as the lead software developer/ engineer for Greenstone Systems.

Bob enjoyed gardening, walking, bicycling, antiquing and had an appreciation for art. He was a longtime member of the Mt. Paran North Church in Marietta, Georgia.

Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Everett and Billie Gardner, of Kearney; brother, Ken (Pam) Gardner, of Kearney; Janice (Jeff) Mess-barger, of Riverdale; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
