Robert “Bob” Andersen

Robert “Bob” Andersen, age 87, of Gibbon, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022, at Kearney Regional Medical Center in Kearney. Memorial services were held Monday, May 23, 2022, at Faith United Church in Gibbon. Inurnment followed at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

Robert Lee Andersen was born September 21, 1934, in Ansley to Ray and Lola (Sheen) Andersen. He was raised in Gibbon and attended Gibbon High School. Bob began working for his dad at Andersen Wrecking while in high school. He later worked at Gibbon Feed Mill where he drove truck for several years. Bob then began working at Eaton Corporation and retired after 30 years of employment.

Bob was a 57 year member of the Gibbon Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. In his younger years, Bob was known to be quite the bowler. Left to cherish his memory

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Violet Andersen, of Gibbon; children, Kathy (Bill) Renshaw, of Kearney, and Tammy Moore, of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grand child; daughter-in-law, Betty Andersen, of Elkhorn; brothers, Don Andersen, of Texas, and Larry (Sue) Andersen, of Gibbon; sister-in-law, Jeanette Andersen, of Kearney; brother-in-law, Dean Follette, of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wayne Andersen; daughter, Linda (Darry) Burton; son-in-law, Steven Moore, Sr.; brother, Jim Andersen; and sisters, Betty Judd and Shirley Follette.
