Rachel Adams

Rachel Adams, age 80, of Kearney, formerly of Lowell, passed away October 18, 2025, at St.

John’s Good Samaritan Home in Kearney. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 1, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment will be held at a later date.

Rachel was born March 28, 1945, in Taber, Iowa, to Ross and Ruth (Burke) Keyt.

She was raised near College Springs, Iowa, and graduated high school in 1963. She later attended business school in Omaha. On May 8, 1965, she was united in marriage to Charles Adams. The couple made their home near Gibbon where Rachel and Charlie owned and operated a gas station. She later worked at Walmart and finally at Eaton Corporation before retiring after 20 years of employment.

In her retirement, she worked at Windmill State Park.

Rachel enjoyed ceramics, crafts, and art. She had a passion for music and played the piano and organ. She was a member of Red Hat Society, Pioneer Club, Craft Club and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jana Adams, of Cozad; grandsons, Jovi (Hanna Martin) Cervantes and Jaden Cervantes; great-granddaughters, Nova and Ivey; siblings, Stephen (Donna) Keyt, of Wyoming, and Robert (Mary) Keyt, of Brookfield, Wisconsin; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Adams; and brother, Leroy Keyt.
