Mary Ann Richardson
Mary Ann Richardson, age 89, of Kearney, formerly of Gibbon, passed away Friday, September 4, 2026, at C.H.I. Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral Mass was held Wednesday, September 9, at St. James Catholic Church followed by graveside service at Evergreen Cemetery in Loup City. Mary Ann was born August 2, 1937, in Loup City, to Edward and Helen (Pruss) Wroblewski. She grew up in Loup City. Mary Ann married Edward Waggoner on November 27, 1954. He passed away October 24, 1955.
Mary Ann then married Robert Richardson on July 25, 1960, in Broken Bow. They lived in Loup City where Mary Ann worked as a waitress at the Fredericks Hotel and the Snack Shop. They moved to Gibbon and she stayed home to raise their kids. Then she worked at the turkey plant and the nursing home in Gibbon.
Mary Ann enjoyed gardening and canning what she had grown, playing cards, polka dancing, decorating for holidays, and baking pies. She was able to pass her apple pie baking talents to her granddaughters.
Mary is survived by her children, Karen and John Halkyard, of Gibbon, Sharon and Vernon Reichmuth, of Ashton, Susan and David Ohlrich, of Kearney, Carl Richardson, of Gibbon, Daniel and Michele Richardson, of Kearney, Christine and Matthew Epperson, of Kearney; stepdaughter, Rose Goddard, of Ogden, Utah; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by two husbands; daughter, Peggy Lou Richardson; sisters, Delores Ziola and Irene Spotanski; and brother, Harold Wroblewski.
