Mary Ann Eatherton

Mary Ann Eatherton, age 82, of Gibbon, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025, at her home.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 24, at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Interment followed at Kearney Cemetery. Mary Ann was born February 16, 1942, in Riverdale, to Carl and Clara (Dauel) Finke.

She grew up in Riverdale and attended grade school there.

She then attended Kearney High School. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Dick Bierman in 1959. She worked at Mile High United Way as a Junior Executive Secretary.

She later worked for State Farm Insurance Company in Gering, Lincoln, and Minden.

In 1977, she married Dale Eatherton in Kearney. They moved to Upland in 1986 and to Gibbon in 2004.

She was a member of Gibbon Faith United Church, BPOE Does in Kearney, American Legion Auxiliary in Upland and Gibbon, and a member of AA for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rick (Sheri) Bierman, of Marion, Iowa, and Kendra (Pete) Olsen, of Scottsdale, Arizona; stepdaughter, Tami Eatherton Anderson, of Kearney; step daughters-in-law, Gilberta Eatherton, of Gibbon, and Sheri Eatherton, of Kearney; step sons-in-law, Larry Dix, of Lincoln, and Bob Howard, of Kearney; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; brother, Carl “Heinie” Finke, of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Eatherton; step-children, Terry and Steve Eatherton, Ronda Dix, and Ranae Howard; and her brothers, Virgil and Dale Finke.
