He was born in Page to Elmer E. Edmisten and Daisy (Jeffrey) Edmisten on April 23, 1937.

Lorance graduated from Page High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958. In 1960, he graduated from Lincoln School of Commerce. Lorance married Sharon McNurlin on January 14, 1961, to this union five boys were born, Steven, Todd, Michael, JayDee, and Jason. He retired from Martha Gooch Pasta Company in Lincoln in 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon, of Kearney; his sons, Steven, his wife Sheri, from Bloomfield, JayDee, his wife Jan, from Riverside, California, and Jason, his wife Patty, from Aguanga, California. He also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Todd Elbert Edmisten and Michael Lee Edmisten.
