Lloyd Pedersen

Lloyd Pedersen, age 70, of Gibbon, passed away Friday, December 30, 2022, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Friday, January 6, 2023, at Faith United Church in Gibbon. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon with Military Honors provided by the Gibbon American Legion in conjunction with the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team.

Lloyd was born February 20, 1952, in St. Paul to Melvin and Lila (Petersen) Pedersen.

He was raised in St. Paul and attended St. Paul High School, graduating with the class of 1972. Lloyd proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1972 until his honorable discharge in 1974. On September 4, 1976, Lloyd was united in marriage to Elizabeth Bernstauch at the Holdrege Baptist Church. He was a past employee of Gibbon Public Schools, Gibbon COOP, Fox Grain, and worked for the City of Gibbon for 29 years.

Lloyd enjoyed hunting, camping, woodworking, playing cards, mowing, and playing pranks on people. He loved spending time with his family and dog, Daisy.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Elizabeth Pedersen, of Gibbon; children, Stephanie (Doug) Larsen, of Minden, and Jim (Angelique Stryker) Pedersen, of Kearney; grandchildren, Emily Larsen, Kimberly Larsen, and Amelia Huerta; siblings, Elaine (Ron) Swanson, of St. Paul, and Glenn (Patty) Pedersen, of St. Paul; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Laura; parents-in-law, Wallace and Louise Bernstrauch; sisterin- law, Theresa Bernstrauch; and brother-in-law, Mike Bernstrauch.
