Kurt K. Lauer

Kurt K. Lauer, age 75, of Wooster, Ohio, died on Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at West View Healthy Living, in Wooster, Ohio.

There will be no services.

He was born August 9, 1946, the son of Avnelle Pool Lauer in Kearney. He married Robyn Markus on June 23, 1979. She survives.

Kurt had been a designer, and builder, of buildings for the last 30 years. He was very good at his profession. Kurt excelled as a basketball player in high school, having played for the Gibbon Buffaloes of Gibbon. While in high school he was voted a High School All-American, along side another basketball great named Lew Alcindor (Kareem Abdul-Jabbar). Kurt then went on to earn a master’s degree in psychology from Kearney State University. Currently, Kurt holds the Nebraska high school boys basketball single-season scoring record of 956 points (1963-64). Kurt was elected to the Nebraska High School Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons, Kristopher Lauer, of Wooster, Ohio, and Eric Lauer, of Houston, Texas; and granddaughter, Jazzlyn Lauer, of Wooster, Ohio.
