John “Jack” Buso

John “Jack” Buso, age 79, of Gibbon, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at his home. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 13, 2023, at Faith United Church in Gibbon. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery with military honors provided by Gibbon American Legion Post #310 in conjunction with the Nebraska National Guard Funeral Honors Team.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. today, Thursday, October 12, at the church.

Cremation Services.

Jack was born July 29, 1944, in Shelton to John and Mildred (Godfrey) Buso. He was raised in Gibbon where he attended Gibbon High School, graduating with the class of 1962.

Jack proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1965 until his honorable discharge in 1967.

He was united in marriage to Karen Neilson. To this union two sons were blessed. The couple later divorced. Jack worked at Aurora Coop as a Propane Sales Truck Driver for 43 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his longtime companion, Ann Evans, of Kearney; sons, John (Kate) Buso, of Wasilla, Alaska, and Wade Buso, of Kearney; grandchildren, Olivia Buso, Ewan Buso, and Abby Buso; siblings, Marilyn Jensen, of Holdrege, Phillip Buso, of Boston, Massachusetts, Lydia Rippe, of Chapman, Linda Holstein, of Minden, and Marla (Floyd) Osgood of Dallas, Texas; sister-in-law, Winnie Buso, of Mesa, Arizona; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Buso; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Rippe, Art Holstein, and Larry Jensen; and sister-in-law, Cheryl Buso.
