Janice Olivia Silva Riendeau

Janice “Jan” Riendeau, of San Leandro, California, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2023, in Gibbon with her family by her side. She was 78 years old and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jan was laid to rest with graveside services at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette, California, on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, and a celebration of life followed at Pleasant Hill Senior Center in Pleasant Hill, California.

Jan was born August 13, 1944, in Oakland, California, and always felt thankful to her birth family for giving her the opportunity to live her best life.

Her parents William and Florence (Borba) Silva and brother Keith were the best family and loved her unconditionally.

She grew up in Berkley, California, until the family moved to Danville, California. In 1962 she graduated from San Ramon High School. In 1965, her daughter was born and they lived in Pleasant Hill, California, before moving to Placer-ville, California.

She later moved to Tahoe, California, before marrying

John “Bud” Riendeau on December 16, 1991. They lived there happily ever after in San Leandro, California.

Everywhere that Jan lived or worked she made friends, many of whom remained lifelong friends. She had a great sense of humor, a beautiful smile, and looked at life as an adventure.

She loved crafting, reading, golfing, and traveling.

She is survived by her brother, Keith; sister-in-law, Ginger; daughter, Tami; stepson, Jeff Riendeau; stepdaughters, Kathy (Rick) McRoberts and Misty Riendeau; grandchildren, Eric Baker, Megan (Eric) Kuehl, Matt (Arielle) Baker, Kate (Brendon) Sinsel, Melissa (Justin) Roberts, Tyler Riendeau, Garret Riendeau, Travis (Sara) McRoberts, and Adam Riendeau Padilla; great-grandchildren, Henry and Isaac Kuehl, Adara and Orion Baker, Kellen Sinsel, Baby Roberts (due in October), Roscoe and Pepper McRoberts, and Bradley Riendeau; and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Her family, especially her grand and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
