Jack R. Murr

Jack R. Murr, age 83, of Gibbon, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. today, Thursday, December 23, at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon. There will be no visitation.

Jackie Ray Murr was born March 29, 1938, in Sac County, Iowa to Charles and Jessie (Hunt) Murr. The family moved to Gibbon when Jack was two years old. He was raised in Gibbon and received his education from Gibbon High School. Following his graduation, Jack worked for a few farmers in the area. He later worked at Rockwell International and was a longtime employee at West Pharmaceuticals Company.

Jack loved to tinker on anything with an engine, especially lawn mowers.

Left to cherish his memory are two nephews; many greatnieces, great-nephews, and cousins; and a brother-in-law, Alan Dietz, of Newark.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan Dietz; and brother, Jerry Murr.
