Hope was a talented singer, actress and a truly gifted teacher. As a former student said, “There were no losers in Mrs. Wescoatt’s class. She breathed success and confidence into each and every one of us.” She touched so many lives in so many ways in her 102 years. She often said that the best gift was just “to be — to live, enjoy, learn and especially love.” She took many companions with her on that journey.

Hope was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ivan “Pete” Wescoatt; three sisters, Berniece Williams, Precious Joy Anderson and Donna Ullman; her children, Leslie Randall (John) and Craig Wescoatt (Linda); and her granddaughters, Kenzie Helton (Jason) and Kiersten Simmons. She also leaves countless friends, former students and family members who will miss her dearly.
