Harry R. Husman
Harry R. Husman, age 90, of Kearney, formerly of Gibbon, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at Mother Hull Home in Kearney. Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. this Friday, May 1, at Faith United Church in Gibbon. Inurnment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon.

Harry was born January 2, 1935, in rural Chapman, to Dick and Esther (Barth) Husman. He attended school until the seventh grade when he was needed on the farm after his father had a farm accident.
Harry later earned his GED.
On November 21, 1955, Harry was united in marriage to Leanna Elshof. The couple later divorced in 1976. Harry was then married to Joan Grim on April 1, 1978. The couple enjoyed many years of marriage, going for drives, watching birds, and going out to eat.
Harry also enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and spending time with family.
Harry proudly served 19 ½ years in the Army National Guard. Harry spent many years in the welding trade, known for his skill, reliability, and pride in his work. The projects he built — big and small — show the care and craftsmanship he put into everything he did. He was a kind, humble person who was always willing to help others. Family, friends, and coworkers will remember his steady hands, good nature, and dedication to his craft.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Shari Martin, Doreen Anderson, and Reggie (Dan) Steckmyer; stepdaughters, Gayle (John) Hanke and Gwen (Chuck) Campell; seven grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joan; sisters, Alberta Wiese and Bonnie Clark; brother, Joe; and son-in-law, Bud Martin.
