Frank Cuellar
Frank Michael Cuellar, age 92, of Omaha, passed away on April 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving daughters.
Frank was born June 22, 1933, in McCook, the son of Macedonio and Tranquilina (Luevano).
Frank graduated from Mc-Cook High School in 1951, then went on to McCook Junior College, earning an associate’s degree in mechanical engineering with continued education at University of Nebraska-Omaha. Frank married Darlene Lepper in McCook in 1953. Frank and Darlene had seven daughters together: Marcia Lynn, Theresa Marie, Doreen Mary, Dianne Ruth, Karen Elaine, Christina Kay, and Denise Francis. After twenty years of marriage, they divorced.
Frank worked as a mechanical engineer for various companies in the Omaha area. He retired from Farris Engineering after working there for more than 30 years.
He loved golfing and gardening. He especially enjoyed putting in a tomato garden every year and sharing his bounty with many.
He was a member of St. Pius X Church, where he served on many committees. Frank was also involved in AA for more than 50 years.
Some of Frank’s grandchildren called him Paco.
Remaining to cherish Franks memory are his brother, Richard Cuellar; daughters, Doreen Sima (Steven), Dianne Klabunde (Gary), Karen Wertz (Ron), Christina Griffing (Alan), and Denise Cuellar-Spellman; 17 grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He had many friends from his church and the AA community.
Preceding Frank in death are daughters, Marcia Lynn and Theresa Marie; his parents, Macedonio and Tranquilina Cuellar; six brothers; and five sisters.
