Donna Darlene (Daake) Beck

Donna Darlene (Daake) Beck peacefully passed from this life on November 16, 2023, surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral Home in Kearney. Memorials to the family in lieu of flowers for future designation. Donna’s final resting place will be with her beloved husband Kenny at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell with intermentatalaterdate. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Donna was born August 31, 1941, to Carl W. and Thelma C. (Carman) Daake and was raised in the Amherst area.

She married Dean Lienemann in 1959 and moved to his family farm in Wilcox where they raised Charolais cattle. They had three children together, Kim, Larry, and Gaylene. The marriage did not last, but their children remained an active part of both parent’s lives.

Donna married Kenny Beck on July 25, 1969, and they became a blended family that added Kenneth Allen, Janet, and Scott. Chuck was born to the couple in 1971. The family moved to Gibbon, where Kenny opened Beck Electric and Donna became the office manager. Both were active in the American Legion and Auxiliary. Donna became a lifetime member of the Bradley Buck Auxiliary Unit after serving in many different offices over the years. Donna was passionate about helping people in her community from working on commodity food drops, volunteering with Legion baseball and women’s softball, operating a youth center, and working with senior citizens. Donna spent the last, most content years of her life among people she loved at Mother Hull Home — attending chapel, playing Bingo, and doing craft projects.

She was well known for her collection of hats.

Donna is survived by children, Kim Garcia, Gaylene Stupic (Joe), and Chuck Beck (Tammie), as well as step-children, Jan Beck McCracken (Tim) and Scott Beck; daughter-inlaw, Stacey Lienemann; sister, Karla Shafer (Richard); brother, August Daake (Judy); brotherin- law, Pat Sims; grandchildren, Crystal, Brooke, Lacey, Seth, Blake, Grant, Jonathon, Megan, Jessica, and Kaylee; great-grandchildren, Brendan, Alex, Brianna, Alyssa, Hayden, Josiah, Toby, Crosley, Fulton, Madelynn, and Joseph; and a great-great-granddaughter, Nevaeh.
