Donald Olson

Donald Olson, age 74, of Gibbon, passed away Wednesday April 22, 2026, at Kearney Regional Medical Center after many years of illness.

There will be no services held.

Don was born in Winner, South Dakota, September 2, 1951. He grew up on the family farm south of Winner, South Dakota. He married Sharon Dale Grimm in Winner, South Dakota, on October 11, 1969. They lived in South Dakota and Nebraska during their 43-year marriage and Don lived in the same home in Gibbon for 46 years. The greatest joys in Don’s life were music, cars, and his family.

Survivors include five daughters, Lori Thorson and her husband, Troy, of Marshall, Virginia; Tracey Roeder and her husband, Richard, of Amherst; Connie Walker, of Minden; Tina Packard and her husband, Michael, of Casa Grande, Arizona; and Amanda Olson, of Gibbon. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one brother, Dale Olson, of Winner, South Dakota.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Olson; parents, Amiel and Stella Olson; and six siblings, Ken Olson, Marvin Olson, Alvin Olson, Larry Olson, Lorraine Scadden, and Carol Boerner.
