Curtis was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, in 1955 to John and Betty (Burnison) Gall and was the oldest of six siblings. He was raised in Nebraska and graduated from Wood River High School in 1974. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he worked as a dry dock crane operator and engine mechanic for submarines as they came in for repairs. Curt was stationed in Rota Spain for three years of his service. He was honorably discharged and returned to Nebraska where he worked for several years as a farm hand and at a farm implement company.
Curt moved to Colorado where he spent the majority of his life. His first job was at Seattle Fish as a fish packer and that’s where he met his sweetheart and love of his life Patricia “Pat.” He married Patricia Evelyn Anderson on March 4, 1995. He then worked most of his career in skilled maintenance at various corporate warehouses.
Curt also served 21 proud years with the Hudson and Lochbuie Fire Departments as a volunteer firefighter, assistant chief and later serving on the board until his death. He received many awards during those years. He was very proud of being a part of the fire department and said it was one of the most important things in his life.
Curt loved fishing, camping, hunting, rock and roll music, and watching movies. He was kind to everyone he met and had a great sense of humor. He cared deeply for his family. Curtis is survived by his mother, Betty Gall, of Grand Island; four stepchildren, Jerry Anderson, of Denver, Colorado, Mary Liz (Bobby) Velez, of Dallas, Texas, Jesse (Lisa) Anderson, of Westminster Colorado, and Pamela Anderson, of Aurora, Colorado; siblings, Shari (Bill) Hadenfeldt, of Cairo, Vicki (Mike) Taylor, of Red Feather Lakes, Colorado, Joyce (Allan) Miller, of Wood River, Joanne Johnson (Todd Manning), of Aurora, and Don (Wanna) Gall, of Lincoln; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
