Craig Nutter

Craig Nutter, age 77, of Gibbon, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Funeral services were Saturday, February 19, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kearney with Pastor Luke Biggs officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to the Gibbon Rural Fire District #2. Condolences may be shared online at www.osrfh.com. Services are entrusted to O’Brien Straatmann Redinger Funeral and Cremation Services.

Craig was born August 7, 1944, in Kearney to Donovan and Ramona (Major) Nutter. He grew up in Gibbon and graduated from Gibbon High School in 1962. Craig was united in marriage to Julene Beck on June 19, 1965, at Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. The couple made their home on a farm outside of Gibbon where Craig farmed his entire life. Craig was known for being able to fix anything. He enjoyed traveling, square dancing, and spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Craig was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and the Gibbon Rural Fire Board where he served on the board for many years. He was a member of the Corn Growers Association and Central RVers Camping Club and was involved in the Gibbon Tractor Pull.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julene Nutter, of Gibbon; children, Brett (Mina) Nutter, of Geneva, Trisha (Brian) Kroll, of Shelton, Christina (Justin) Stade, of Pipe Creek, Texas, and Carrie (Tim) Wiebe, of Omaha; grandchildren, Morgan (Jake) Stutzman, Derek (Taylor) Kroll, Sydni Kroll, Ethan (Maddie) Nutter, Marrissa Nutter, Jacob Nutter, Carston Wiebe, Jadon Wiebe, Sawyer Wiebe, Keller Wiebe, Colton Stade and Lawson Stade; great-grandchildren, Owen, Ian, Wade, Georgia and a baby on the way; brother, Steve Nutter, of Abilene, Texas; and sister, Theda (Jim) Potter, of Ohio.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents; an infant sister, Tovy; sister, Carol; and his brother, Van.
