Cherie Anne (Archer) Lacey
Cherie Anne (Archer) Lacey, age 85, of Shelton, passed away on September 11, 2026, at Westfield Quality Care in Aurora.
Per Cherie’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorials can be made to the Shelton Volunteer Fire Department.
Cherie was born August 10, 1941, in Kearney and spent most of her life in Shelton where she attended school.
When the family relocated to Denver, Colorado, she remained there for several years. Cherie married Steve Fall and a daughter, Leslye, was born.
Cherie later returned to Shelton with her daughter, remaining in the area for the rest of her life. After moving back to Shelton, Cherie married Jerry Deeds and a son, Damon, was born. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated the Red Lantern for several years. Once her children were grown, Cherie enjoyed helping others by working in the home health field.
Several years later, she and her husband, Larry Lacey, owned and operated Larry Lacey Trucking.
Cherie was a longtime member of the Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed volunteering her time. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Cherie especially loved traveling to the Rocky Mountains, decorating her home at Halloween and Christmas, and playing board games. She was an avid reader and loved genealogy and spoiling her grandkids.
Cherie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She was full of love and never knew a stranger. She will be missed greatly and beyond what words can express.
Survivors include her daughter, Leslye (John) Prettyman, of Yuma, Colorado; son, Damon (Lora) Deeds, of Shelton; granchildren, Kaitlin Staab and her son, Seith, of Lincoln, Daniel Prettyman, of Yuma, Colorado, and Micaehla Prettyman, of Gunnison, Colorado; sister, Kathy (George) Mashburn, of Shelton; brother, Dan (Anita) Archer, of Grand Lake, Colorado; sister, Susie (Fred) Baum, of Dyer, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gaylord and Catherine Archer; brother, Mike Archer; and sister, Karen Travis.
