Carolyn R. Naab

Carolyn R. Naab, age 83, of Grand Island, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, September 21, at St. Leo’s Catholic Church. Celebrant was Father Don Buhrman. Burial took place at Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

All Faiths Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangement. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Leo’s Catholic Church or the Wood River Foundation.

Carolyn was born on October 19, 1938, at Kearney, daughter of Frank and Opal (Loffer) Ripp. She graduated from Shelton High School in 1956.

Carolyn began her banking career at the Overland National Bank in Grand Island, followed by 31 years at the Bank of Wood River. She was a member of the National Association of Bank Women from 1961 to 1989 and served as Nebraska State Chairwomen in 1975 to 1976.

Also, Carolyn was a member of the Platte Valley Chapter of The American Institute of Banking, 1961 to 1988, serving on the Board of Directors from 1982 to 1985. She was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church. On September 2, 1988, she married Donald L. Naab in Grand Island. With her husband’s employment, they lived in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Casper, Wyoming, until 1991 when they returned to Grand Island. She was employed by Hall County Court until her retirement. Carolyn enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with friends.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Donald.
