Carol V. Theis

Carol V. Theis, age 82, of Kearney, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A funeral mass will be held 10:30 a.m.

Tuesday, October 14, at St.

James Catholic Church. The family will receive friends 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday, October 13, at the church with a vigil prayer service beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Carol was born July 7, 1943, in Loup City to Lambert and Velma (Trompke) Larchick.

She attended Kearney High School, graduating with the class of 1962. Carol was united in marriage to Donald Theis on April, 27, 1963, in Kearney. To this union, five children were blessed. Carol continued her education by earning her LPN in 1989. She worked several years at Ravenna Good Samaritan

Home and Mother Hull Home as an LPN.

Carol enjoyed painting and camping and was an avid reader. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Kearney.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Scott (Michelle) Theis, of Kearney, and Michele (Gerald) Buschkoetter, of Lawrence; son-in-law, Stewart Kurtzhals, of Kearney; grandchildren, Nick Theis, Zack (Jordan) Theis, and Ty Kurtzhals; brother, Ron (Linda) Larchick, of Norman, Oklahoma; sisters, Constance (Ken) Dustin, of Colorado Springs, Coloardo, and Renee (Willy) Behn, of Kearney; as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Theis; daughter, Pam Kurtzhals; and infant daughters, Ronda and Allie Theis.
